  1. Signing up for the ACT or the SAT.

The various tests have their own deadlines, but I have placed a deadline of Thur. March 18th as the HTHMA deadline to register for the SAT Reasoning and/or ACT w/ Writing (preferably both). Below is some information to help you in the process.

    TESTING:
Registration for the SAT and ACT is essential. All juniors need to take one of the two (preferably both) by the end of your junior year.

    1) To register:
    SAT Reasoning - www.collegeboard.com
    ACT w/ Writing - www.actstudent.org

You need to create an account with both The College Board and ACT.

Fee waivers for any students on Free/Reduced lunch are available for both tests and can be picked up from the college advising office.

    2) I am requesting that all juniors sign up for the SAT Reasoning and/or ACT w/writing by March 18th and return a copy of the registration form to your Advisor.

    3) Show up! Remember to put it on your calendar and to come prepared with snacks, #2 pencils, eraser, water, calculator, picture ID, and registration form.

  2. Steps to signing up:
    1) Log on to www.collegeboard.com (SAT Reasoning) or www.actstudent.org (ACT w/writing)
    2) Answer about 20 minutes of questions related to you high school classes and test preparation (used for research)
    3) Pick the location, hopefully somewhere close to where you live (HTHMA is not a test center).
    4) Pick the type of test - SAT Reasoning or ACT w/writing
    5) Enter in our school code: 054054 (this ensures that we get a copy of your scores and we can put them into Family Connection)
    6) Pay for the test. If you are on Free/Reduced lunch you should have a fee waiver. I went around yesterday to distribute fee waivers to the students that had not picked one up. If you still dont have one, come by my office.
    7) Finish the registration and print out two (2) admission tickets....one for you....and one that you bring back to me (or advisor).

All this needs to be done before you leave school on Thursday, March 18th!
